Hi, I'm Bella Kwai.
How did you get to this collection? Were you browsing for pictures of good-looking labradors? Did you wander off on a foreign film google rampage? Hey, don't look at me, I don't know. My name is Isabella Kwai. I'm an Australian who graduated from Duke University in the States, currently working in DC. I write fiction, journalism, opinion articles, and the occasional angsty, Byronic essay. I like overcrowded cities, good coffee and music with a beat. Sometimes when I'm alone, or with the people I love, I'll wonder how we do it all.
What I'm proud of: My work at The Atlantic, my novella, or my columns at Duke.
Some facts: I was born in Shanghai and grew up in the suburbia of north-west Sydney. Since leaving for college in the States, I've never been able to consider any one place home, probably because I don't stay in a country for longer than three months at a time. It's the most liberating thing about my life, sometimes. It's most disturbing thing about my life, other times.
I like hearing stories and facts from strangers. You can reach me at bella DOT kwai12 AT gmail DOT com, or if you think hard enough about tasty Asian cuisine. That generally makes me come running.
